A Burger King franchisee in Florida has been sued for failure to pay overtime wages and wage theft. The class action lawsuit, filed in Florida federal court, claims that workers at over 100 Burger King restaurants in central Florida, were not paid time and one half overtime pay for the vast majority of weeks that they worked over forty. The lawsuit also claims that Burger King altered employees’ time records so that they usually reflected no more than forty hours per week. Attorneys for the employees are seeking unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, and attorneys’ fees for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
